CBI arrests IPS officer in alleged Rs 3 crore bribe case
CBI arrested 2012-batch Haryana cadre IPS officer Deepak Gahlawat on 1 July 2026, alleging a Rs 3 crore demand to influence a probe against a Puducherry businessman. Premises were searched. The case is an allegation, not a court finding.
CBI arrests Delhi Food and Supply official in ration-card bribe case
CBI said it trapped an assistant commissioner of Delhi's Food and Supply Department on 21 May 2026 while allegedly taking Rs 10,000. The agency alleged a demand of Rs 100 per ration card for allotting 475 cards. This is an allegation under investigation, not a conviction.
FSSAI moves food recalls onto the public FoSCoS portal
An 18 March 2026 FSSAI order requires designated officers and food businesses to file recalls in FoSCoS. Consumers can check live recall status on the FoSCoS homepage. This is the official channel for food withdrawn as unsafe or non-compliant.
CDSCO reports 860-plus actions after risk-based factory inspections
A March 2026 PIB briefing said CDSCO and state drug controllers inspected more than 960 premises since December 2022. More than 860 actions followed, including show-cause notices, stop-production orders, suspensions, and licence cancellations under the Drugs Rules, 1945.
167 drug samples flagged not of standard quality in December 2025
The Health Ministry said CDSCO's December 2025 alert found 74 central-lab samples and 93 state-lab samples not of standard quality. Seven samples were identified as spurious and are under investigation. The ministry said the finding applies to the tested batches only.
